Mount Isolation (4004')

The lowest peak in the Presidential Region and the only one lacking the name of a prominent old white guy. Isolation is a pretty accurate name as the summit is nearly equidistant from Route 302 and Route 16.

  1. The Presi Range is criss-crossed with many different trails and summits. You're going to want to keep your map handy and really pay attention.
  2. The Presi Range is rugged and rocky. Give yourself plenty of time on these hikes.
  3. Mt. Washington is called "the home of World's Worst Weather" for a reason. It can go from a bright sunny day to a downpour and back in a matter of minutes. BE PREPARED!

Parking Areas:

 

Park at the Rocky Branch North Parking area.

Take the Rocky Branch Trail (moderate difficultyfor 3.7 mi.

Take a right (North) onto the Isolation Trail

Continue on the Isolation Trail for 2.6 mi.

Turn left (South) onto the Davis Path Trail and continue 0.9 mi. to the summit of Isolation
