Mount Flume (4328')

Mount Flume is the Southernmost substantial peak on the Franconia ridge and is just a stones throw away from other Liberty, Little Haystack, Lincoln and Lafayette. Consider extending your hike across the ridge.

Parking Areas:

*This is the most direct route, but it should be noted: The Flume Slide Trail is one off the steepest and most intense in the Whites. Flume is accessible from the summit of Liberty if you want to bypass the Flume Slide*

Park at the Liberty Springs Trailhead and take the Liberty Springs Trail for 0.6 mi.

Turn right (South) onto The Flume Slide Trail and strap in

Continue on the Flume Slide Trail (intense) for 3.3 mi.

Turn left (North) onto the Franconia Ridge Trail and pat yourself on the back for climbing a bear of a trail

Continue on the Franconia Ridge Trail for 0.1 mi. to the summit of Mt. Flume

If you are day hiking, consider looping down over Mt. Liberty for a second summit and easier route down.

If you are looking for an overnight stay at the Liberty Springs tent site and continue over the ridge on your second day.
