Carter Dome (4832')

Carter Dome is an exciting summit in the Eastern Region of the White Mountains. It is the highest point on the Carter Range and is part of the Appalachian Trail. Carter Dome is also very close to the AMC's Carter Notch Hut, which is open year round.

Parking Areas:

Park at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead and take the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail  for 3.8 mi. to the Carter Notch Hut

Take a left (North East) onto the Carter-Moriah Trail for 1.2 mi.

Arrive at the summit of Carter Dome

There are lots of options for peak bagging around Carter Dome, including the Wildcats and the other Carters.

The Wildcats are a doozie. Consider staying at the Carter Notch Hut but make sure you make a reservation.
