Carter Dome (4832')
Carter Dome is an exciting summit in the Eastern Region of the White Mountains. It is the highest point on the Carter Range and is part of the Appalachian Trail. Carter Dome is also very close to the AMC's Carter Notch Hut, which is open year round.
Park at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead and take the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail for 3.8 mi. to the Carter Notch Hut
Take a left (North East) onto the Carter-Moriah Trail for 1.2 mi.
Arrive at the summit of Carter Dome
Most Direct Route:
There are lots of options for peak bagging around Carter Dome, including the Wildcats and the other Carters.
The Wildcats are a doozie. Consider staying at the Carter Notch Hut but make sure you make a reservation.
